News (07/2003):

King's (maybe) winning comeback in the news! In addition of the beach-soccer he continues to promote & developpe with his brother Joël and his team, King Eric strikes back on the wide screen with a very dark character!

After having, rightly, doubted about his real acting abilities 2 years ago, the King is back in l'Outremangeur from Thierry BINISTI which will come out on the 16th of July (see the link "Filmography" bellow...).

Eric gave us his explanation in the show "En Aparté" the 28th of June, on Canal +.

Whereas all its preceding roles or appearances were only, according to him, caricatures of its own character, what interested him in this acting is the complexity, the desire for going further with a character tortured by his past...

Then, even if he sometimes dream about still being playing football, he gave us again the reason of his 1997's retirement: the flame of the passion which burned out...

Faithful to his convictions ("the football is my passion and I would stop the day I will not have it any more, or that I will feel it to decline"), he applied them, even if he thinks having stopped to young. However, the high level competition required increasingly heavy sacrifices.

For me, as for all the other disappointed thousands of fans, the shock was hard, but Eric succeeded where so many others before him failed, to leave by (very) the large door, at the top of his art!

Even if he regrets of course the world cup, he acknowledges to have lived the most beautiful possible things in Manchester! See the link below "The reasons of KING's success..."

CANTONA... wether you like, wether you hate him... what is sure it is that there is no compromise... you can say what you want about him, but only his charism speaks...
